PlatiStone’s inaugural operation at Mogalakwena Mine is situated 35km northwest of Mokopane Town. Initially, the mine only produced 25,000 tons per month, however, following our acquisition of the operation, the production of aggregates has increased to over 60,000 tons per month.

Our highly competitive pricing has increased our market share considerably in central Limpopo, where we supply material to large infrastructure developments. These include projects carried out by Aveng, Stefanutti Stocks, Lonerock Construction, Esor Franki, Lafarge, and many others.

Our second operation is also based at Mogalakwena Mine, where we are contracted to crush 70,000 tons of platinum ore for Anglo American Platinum per month. Mogalakwena Mine has trusted PlatiStone to crush the ore for their Baobab Concentrator for more than a decade.

PlatiStone operates a high volume plant that has been crushing magnetite ore for Bushveld Minerals since 2021. This project is set up to crush in access of 60,000 tons of ore per month. The flexibility this project provides to Bushveld Minerals is enormous with the ability to crush high volumes of different ore type at any given time.

Our Brits operation has created much needed jobs for the local community and opportunities for local entrepreneurs. This is our model operation for hiring young people and developing their skills.

We acquired the Lanseria Stone and Sand quarry in 2022. This is a very exciting project for us as we venture into conventional quarry operations. Located at the heart of the Lanseria Smart City development, this operation has very high potential to be our flagship operation in Gauteng in the near future. Our plan is to increase the life of this operation by another 30 years.

Our Lanseria operation supplies high quality commercial aggregates for all construction applications from a granite source. We also supply quality sand for different construction applications. Together with our partners, we are also able to supply all your ready mix concrete and quality bricks.

PlatiStone purchased 49% of Cement Industries Lesotho in 2014. This entity owns the mining rights and lease for an aggregate quarry situated near the Poli Hali Dam wall of Phase 2 of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project. This is a key strategic project for the Lesotho and South Africa governments and is expected to last eight years.

We are the operating partner for aggregate quarry operations. The mining rights area consists of high-quality dolerite dyke, which will be used to produce high-quality aggregates for concrete and road building material. The mining lease is 8.4 km2 with more than 4 million tons of dolerite.

PlatiStone and our Lesotho partners, in line with our community empowerment policy, have successfully set up a community development trust.
